BTI Bowling, Inc. is a New York based company that had been primarily a bowling products retailer who offered Abralon pads and other abrasives for the purpose of resurfacing bowling balls as part of their product line. They are a repeat client. I had built their original e-commerce site. It became apparent that they were selling far more abrasive pads to industries other than bowling. That sparked the build of the Abralon Plus website.
The project was a straight forward shopping application with back office and inventory control functions. The site was built and deployed with no real fanfare. In the search engines it fell right into the lower middle of the pack. The real difference came with an idea I had a few weeks later, to replace the home page which, like most shopping carts, was loaded with product and nothing in the way of content, with a page that was content rich with information about the products. Within a few weeks the new site was at the top of all of the major search engines.
Due to the specialized nature of the product, my goal was to deploy a feature rich shopping cart application. I used the NopCommerce open source cart as the base since I had been a regular contributor to the NopCommerce project.
